Does anyone have suggestions for tuning students' dulcimers in the music classroom? I have about 15 dulcimers and would like to use them in my music classes, but finding the time to tune all of them before class is often difficult. As a result, the instruments spend too much time collecting dust and not enough time being played by the children. Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks!

The first time's the hardest. The first couple of times you tune a dulcimer, the strings stretch or slip or something. But after tuning them a few times, they will be inclined to stay in tune. Also, as difficult as this will be at first, I sure hope you will be able to teach the children to tune their own instruments, which can be done as a fun group activity. It's a huge part of their musical training!
